Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical Persepolis is one of my favorite books and probably the one I've most often given as a gift to others.
Until today's post at AICN, I had no idea there was a movie adaptation in production. The short trailer seems to capture the energy, spirit and humour of the book... I can't wait to see it on the big screen :)
Gorgeous. Jamie Caliri's 2D stop-motion ad for United Airlines. Missing my seat 'phones, I saw the making of documentary on my way back from Vancouver yesterday and was instantly mesmerised by Caliri's style...and kinda disappointed that it was just an ad, not a movie.

Almost as cool as Michel Gondry's LEGO Fell In Love With A Girl...
Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality or AR, applications are nothing new, institutions such as MIT Media Lab have been developing various innovations in this field for many years. However, Total Immersion's D'fusion technology is one fo the first examples of productised AR technology; incidentally now being employed by companies such as BMW.
Total Immersion was one of last year's DEMOgods at the annual DEMO event in Scottsdale, Arizona. Their five-minute demo was a stunning example of AR principles and a playful showcase of their technology.
AREVA's Energy Experts campaign ran throughout 2004 with possibly the cutest promo for nuclear power. Produced by French design collective H5, the campaign is stylistically similar to their Röyksopp video for Remind Me and no doubt part-inspired by SimCity. The campaign consists of some beautifully crafted isometric animations and design - giving the mundane industrial breadth of AREVA's nuclear infrastructure some energy and charm.
The campaign site consists of a number of Flash tutorials, games, downloadable PDFs, TV ads and a 'making-of' documentary. You can see more at AREVA's Energy Experts.
